The whales

Hi!
A bit of experimenting with clay and these little cuties happened! These three clay whales are a sort of prototype for me as I'm trying things out with their coloring, I find I prefer the light wash of color that brings out the sanded surface to the more uniform coloring. And now I need to figure out how to make their shape more consistent, even though this way each one is unique :-)

Clay house ornaments

Hello there!
I've been MIA for too long, hopefully I'll be able to blog more on my creative endeavors!
My latest project was a first one for me: making little decorations to add to baptism favors (or bombonieres as they are called in greek). Working on custom requests is always challenging but when the end result justifies your hard work and makes the client happy well that's all that matters! These past two weeks we've been working on making these colorful clay houses to be added to the baptism favors and the result is as colorful and happy as I hoped :-)

We made 150 houses, painted them in various colors and finally used colorful cords to tie them. I was sad to say goodbye to my little village, I've been working on it for almost two weeks but I'm sure they will look fantastic on the favors!
I'm thinking of creating a listing in the shop, it is demanding when I have to deal with big quantities but I feel that I can manage and make it work :-)

Hello again

Hello, it's been a while! So here's to a fresh start and (hopefully) more blogging with new projects, things I make and things I like.

This little blue house is playing hide and seek! I've been busy making new houses and adding them to the shop. It finally looks like a colorful little village hehe :-)

Adding color

I'm making small hearts to go with packages, I love colorful, happy mail that cheers you up before you open it! I'm also experimenting with a new matchbox design, it will be up in the shop in the next few days, with more color of course :-)
Also I watched Mildred Pierce, the mini series, I loved the styling and overall feel of it. I know there's a movie version, I'm curious to see that one too :-)

A little color and a book

Lots if things going on at the same time: preparing for a party, playing with watercolors, preparing a matchbox and finishing the ones I had started, writing down ideas so that they don't escape! And I was given this book with Chinese ghost stories form the 17th century, I am curious to see what they are (thank you Christine!).

Days gone by

A small recap of the days that passed, I was ill for most of April, it feels like I got nothing done for that month... Well May is here, so let's hope this is a good month, I'm already working on a custom banner and have a few matchbox ideas in progress :-)

Indoors

This weekend we all got sick, one nasty virus and pretty much everybody in the house was bedridden... One thing that cheered me up where these koromilia blooming branches :-)

Still I have a project in mind, I like these lavender sachets and I'm thinking of making something similar but with more embroidery on it! Let's see if I'll manage to get back in a creative mood soon!

What's new?

Our newest additions to the shop are housewares! We've added green and yellow flower coasters, blue and green circle coasters and an orange lace doily. There will be more added soon :-)

A flowery post

I'm not a big fan of summer and one of the reasons is that pretty much everything withers under the glaring sunlight. Already there are only a few flowers in bloom but I guess that's what spring is for and not summer :-)
The last photo is from our pomegranate tree, most of its flowers are already starting to become tiny pomegranates!

Yellow hills

We are back home :-)

Some photos from our little trip:
The hills were covered in yellow! These yellow wildflowers had bloomed everywhere around us, they smelled absolutely divine and colored all the hillsides yellow.

We went hunting for wild asparagus, they are quite smaller from the cultivated ones and very hard to gather as they tend to grow on steep hills or between thorn bushes.

My uncle's dog, we kept calling her Lucy though her name is Lulu. Still she would come waging her tail, a very very friendly dog :-)

Cooking and sewing

This week I made lemon cake with white chocolate. I love lemony tastes, white chocolate not so much but together wow, they are yummy! The recipe still needs a bit testing, my measuring was a bit off but still the result is a very delicious lemon cake! When I get it perfect I'll share it :-)

The music notes and singing bird mobile is finished, definitely one of the trickiest I've done. Unfortunately I didn't get a good shot, so I'll have to try again tomorrow, hopefully I'll have some decent photos of it.

Fruits and notes

Our musmulia (loquat tree) is full of fruits this year, picked these yesterday and I have already eaten most of them! My absolute favorite fruit :-)
And I'm working with felt, making a new mobile. The notes are a bit tricky so I'm working slow but so far it looks adorable!

More birds

My paper mache bird brooches have sold and I decided to make some more :-)
I've been experimenting with old book pages, I want to combine that vintage feel with bright colors and simple patterns. The top two birds are my favorites so far. Hopefully I will finish a couple of brooches this week!

Sneak peek

Here's a sneak peek on what I'm working on, it's been fun combining ribbons with felt.
For a book lover I can't believe it took me this long to think of making felt bookmarks but now I'm on it :-)

The days are still sunny, I'm making the most of it by taking daily walks, trying to stay away from the computer too.
