Smells like Christmas

On December the 11th we'll be attending a very local bazaar, so local it's just five minutes from our home, in our nephew's kindergarten school! We thought it would be nice to have candles up for sale too, so we've been slowly making them. Using scents like sandalwood and orange, the smells are heavenly. I just can't describe how our kitchen and the whole house smells :-) We'll be making a few small ones in red and sell them as sets of two, one red one green in a Christmas packaging, I think it will look great!

And a lovely way to start the month: here you can find a great giveaway on the Egst blog, just comment and you'll be eligible win a beautiful black lace cuff, open to international entries as well!

Necklaces and other things

We are preparing for a Christmas bazaar, it's in 25 days and I feel a bit stressed, there are a lot of things in progress and things that I'm just starting to work on. In addition to that I have to finally finish my secret Santa and sent the package, I'm hoping I'll do that this Monday, if I can't make it tomorrow.
These wool necklaces have a few more steps before they are finished, wooden beads need to be painted (done that, now I just need the varnish to dry before I do another coat) and they'll be put together using black wool to close them.
Oh and did I mention I'm also taking part in the Greek secret Santa exchange? This time I know who the present is for but that doesn't make it any easier, I have a lot of ideas and still haven't started working on one yet :-(
And in addition to all this bazaar, present preparations the house looks like a bomb exploded scattering fabrics, felt, yarns all over the place, covering every single table... I'm dreaming of the day when all of this will be over and I'll do a major cleaning sweep (I ♥ clean surfaces, cannot function properly when things are messy).
See more creative spaces here, hopefully they're not as crazy as mine!

Fish

My paper mache fish, I have only made three but I love each one of them so much! I wanted to paint them so that the illustration from the newspaper would be visible, I really like the result and will make more in the future!

Pinwheels

Pretty cute aren't they? Ten pinwheel pins ready for the bazaar. Today I'm making the felt pebble necklaces, I hope I can make a couple before I get too tired.
Have a great Sunday!

Pebbles

Making needle felt pebbles, they will become necklaces hopefully finished by Monday. You can see a gray one peeking from behind, I have to make a dozen gray and some light green ones. I really can't decide which is more tiresome, wet felting or needle felting. With wet felting my back and both hands end up numb, with needle felting it's my back and my right arm.
Tomorrow's post will be something pretty colorful, I'm off to finish it right now!

A necktie reborn

An old necktie turned into a necklace, this is what I finished today. It's kind of a slow day for me, I slept really late last night and now I'm a bit slow and feel so tired. I'll take it easy today and finish more stuff tomorrow though, I have a plan and I'm sticking to it!
BibliOdyssey is an amazing blog, this post about marbled paper is total eye candy!

Colored pencils

These pencils are made from paper mache, once I'm done varnishing them they will be turned into brooches. I'm still making things for the bazaar, mostly necklaces as I only had a couple at first, I have also started preparing my table. It's pretty important to have a pretty set up so I'm in the hunt for cute objects I can turn into decoration or a base to put my jewelry on.
A very busy creative space from me, so go on hop over to Kootoyoo's blog and see more!

Tiny fishes

Tiny fish made from felt, they are the cutest brooches! I've also made a couple of big fat ones so now I have a colorful school of fish ready for the bazaar. Also today was my jewelry making class. I'm so very very tired but excited, I learned how to solder. Next time we'll do some more soldering and probably begin making a ring! I'm taking the rest of the day off, tomorrow there's more work to be done.

Houses

The little clay houses are done, painted and varnished now they just wait. Still I'm working on many things, I'll post some more tomorrow, maybe some felt stuff.
I've been listening to a lot of music while working so I think this find is very appropriate, I started from Johnny Cash but be sure to check the entire set of musicians there's some amazing stuff there!

Keeping busy

This is a poster for the upcoming Christmas bazaar we'll part of, it will take place on the first weekend of December. It is my first time taking part on something like that and I'm very excited and also so very busy, that's the reason for the lack of posts last week. But this week I'll try making a new post every day, keeping track of my progress in a way.
