I love how these little houses look together, like a whimsical, rustic village! Each house is hand painted with a unique design, I really had no idea what it would be until I started painting it :-)

Clay houses

These two clay houses are in the shop! I enjoyed making them so much and since they are one of a kind I got to be very creative with the paintings. I got to paint different versions of trees, vines and flowers and no two houses are the same!

Rustic houses

I love how these little clay houses ended up looking! Every one I make is unique and one of a kind as I simply paint on them whatever I feel like at that moment. These two are finished, now all I have to do is photograph them and list them! Let's see if I can do it with this heat...

Little clay houses

Hi!
I've been working on a new series of clay houses. They are quite different form my regular ones not only in color choices but in the more detailed painting. I've been using natural and pastel colors for the house and then painted trees, flowers and ivy plants on them. I'm so happy with the way they are coming along, they look very cute but with a more natural look!

Clay house ornaments

Hello there!
I've been MIA for too long, hopefully I'll be able to blog more on my creative endeavors!
My latest project was a first one for me: making little decorations to add to baptism favors (or bombonieres as they are called in greek). Working on custom requests is always challenging but when the end result justifies your hard work and makes the client happy well that's all that matters! These past two weeks we've been working on making these colorful clay houses to be added to the baptism favors and the result is as colorful and happy as I hoped :-)

We made 150 houses, painted them in various colors and finally used colorful cords to tie them. I was sad to say goodbye to my little village, I've been working on it for almost two weeks but I'm sure they will look fantastic on the favors!
I'm thinking of creating a listing in the shop, it is demanding when I have to deal with big quantities but I feel that I can manage and make it work :-)

More clay houses

It's been quite a while since I added new houses in the shop! So this time I added a lot of houses and trees as well as sets of two houses with a little tree. Some are done in natural colors like the brown house but for some I picked bright colors like the yellow and blue set of two houses.
I do love working on them, each house is individually hand formed, then I sand them to create surface texture and then the fun part begins: taking out ALL of my acrylics and picking color combinations that attract my eye. And once I am done it looks so good to put all the houses together, it's like a colorful little village with one of a kind homes and trees!

Hello again

Hello, it's been a while! So here's to a fresh start and (hopefully) more blogging with new projects, things I make and things I like.

This little blue house is playing hide and seek! I've been busy making new houses and adding them to the shop. It finally looks like a colorful little village hehe :-)

It's summer

Well summer is officially here, walking out of the house feels a lot like walking into an oven. So I stayed in and worked a bit. I'm finishing a couple of clay houses, they'll be in a set of two houses and a tree, I have two houses and two trees that need varnishing and I remade the mermaid earrings.
On the left is the pair that was ruined during varnishing, you can see the white color appearing from under the blue and honestly it looks a lot worse than the photo, like it's whitewashed. On the right the pair that I made yesterday and started varnishing today, the color stayed where it should, yay :-)
Remember the paper rockets we made? The nephew loved that project and we made some more when we came back from our Easter holiday. And now I found this fantastic tutorial on flying carp fish, it's going on my "must try it" list!

What's new

It's been weird these last few days, yesterday's flooding rain was unbelievable and today the sun is shining.
A few updates in the shop:
the dove bird with text from Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen and two new houses, a purple high rise and a green one.
I have a couple of ideas I want to work on, something inspired by spring and summer with lots and lots of colors just need to find the time and energy to do them :-)

New but not so new

Finally up in the shop, set no1 and set no2 with two clay houses and a little tree. They are not so new but finally my time and the sun were in harmony and I could take the photos. These last couple of weeks there have been a lot of distractions but I do have some actually new designs, hopefully soon to be listed.
And a few ideas that I want to experiment with, I'm pretty excited about that :-)

Before and after

The before and after of my little clay houses, painted and varnished now I have to photograph each one. And taking the photos is not the part I hate the most, it's editing those photos afterwards. These last couple of days I've spent so much time editing photos on the computer that my eyes are getting so very tired.
And even though I'm the type of person that makes never-ending lists and likes to cross things off them as soon as possible I think I'll take it a bit slow now :-)

Busy bees

 {1/2/3/4}

It's been silent her on the blog but we've been busy these last weeks and the reason is that we opened a new Etsy shop: FishesMakeWishesHome. We decided to move all our home decorations there, so far we got little clay houses, Halloween decor, felt hearts and clay tiles but we'll be adding more things soon! It's been exciting but also a bit of a whirlwind, how we'll manage three shops without going nuts now that will be a challenge :-)
