A big, big giveaway

As a member of the Etsy Greek street team I have donated my flying parrot to the huge giveaway that is taking place now until the 14th of February. On the 14th our team celebrates its 4 years on Etsy so we thought a gift packed giveaway would be a great way to celebrate it!

Another week, another moodboard this time I picked some very talented polymer clay artists from the European street team. I do love the fact that they have used such bright and summery colors, with turquoise standing out!

Monday Moodboard - Unique Silver

I've always been envious of people working with metal, like silver or copper. I took a few classes myself before I gave up: lack of time, lack of space and other reasons made me quit but still I learned the basics and for those few months I enjoyed working with metals a lot. So this time I picked a few members that not only work with silver but also pair it up with different materials: silk fabric, gemstones and porcelain are combined so well with the silver part and make a truly unique creation.

Monday Moodboard - Frustrated

This post has been written, edited, rewritten so many times I stopped counting. The recent changes in Etsy have left me dealing with a feeling of loss, there are five levels of it: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally acceptance. I believe that I'm going about it the wrong way though, I think I'm actually experiencing anger and depression at the same time. I have no wish to bargain but I have to admit that I have accepted the fact that Etsy is a business that has it's own agenda and sometimes (well maybe a lot of the times) our little shop does not fit into their little whimsical, mustache and owl filled little world.

Protect Handmade, Protest with us on 10th of May, we will be silent and we won't use ugly words, we will be closing our shop for 24 hours our words are not heard, so maybe our silence will be.

Monday moodboard - Horses

Yesterday a local organization for helping abandoned and mistreated horses and donkeys had a bazaar. We went there not just to buy things and support their work but also to see the beautiful horses: they had two a male named Danny and a female named Theodora that you could pet. Danny was very friendly, he would come close whenever there was someone around so he could get some more cuddles, he was really asking for them and loved having people around him! It 's hard to believe that someone could treat such beautiful creatures badly but it's nice to see that there are being taking cared of now. So I dedicated my moodboard to horses these absolutely gorgeous and noble creatures that deserve only our love :-)

I am in a spring mood, all the blooming flowers and the sunlight are to blame! Hopefully I will get my concentration back and maybe do some work, because right now I just want to find a sunny spot and sit there gathering rays :-)

I am watching Nigella Lawson on TV in an episode devoted to cooking chocolate recipes and yes you guessed it I am a huge fan of chocolate! I just love it in any shape and form: cakes, cookies, you name it if it's made with chocolate chances are I'm going to love it and eat it with great joy. Nigella started the show with a delicious chocolate cheesecake and moved on to chocolate muffins and a super tasty cup of hot chocolate, that would be perfect for today's cold weather. So for today's moodboard I picked a lovely chocolate brown collection to get you in the spirit too!

Monday Moodboard - Get well soon

This last week has been an absolute nightmare: first my nephew got sick, the doctor diagnosed broncho pneumonia and gave him antibiotics and lots of other medicine to stop the fever and coughing. Then it was his father turn to get sick first and his mother followed, she started feeling horrible over the weekend, after a visit to the hospital she's been given an array of medicine. As of yesterday my sister has been feeling her throat a bit itchy and today I woke up with mine aching a bit. I'm hoping it's just the weird temperatures, one day the sun is shining and the next it's cloudy and cold, and not something else...

After these last two weeks of extreme cold and lots of rain this morning the sun was shining, and it feels as spring is just around the corner. The political situation in my country has been very fitting with the bad weather, watching the news lately just depresses me so I thought a fun, colorful moodboard might help me cheer up and remind me and everyone else after winter comes spring and hope :-)

Monday Moodboard with friends

The bazaar is officially over, the house is almost cleaned from all the mess and we even put up our Christmas tree! The experience was a mixed one, sales were not very good for most of us there, a combination of bad location and bad economic climate I think. In any case it was an experience and we learned from it and I hope things will be better next time.

The most positive of this event was that we all got together, we met new people and made new friends. The online shop names became virtual people, which I think is the most important thing. The selection above are some of the sellers that were in neighboring booths: Apostolis, Georgia, Kornilia and Victoria. 

We had a great time and hopefully we'll meet some of our friends in real life and not just online soon :-)

At Parapera

Christmas bazaar at Parapera

This week we'll be at ParaPera with many more Greek sellers from Etsy. Visit the craft fair, there will be many workshops over the weekend and surprise gifts! It's open from Monday to Friday 17:00-22:00 and Saturday and Sunday 12:00-22:00.

Today I realized that the Christmas holidays are so close, every house in our neighborhood has put on decorations and lights and Christmas trees. All except ours! We've been so busy making new stuff for the bazaars that we had no time to decorate our tree. I don't think that this has ever happened before and I really miss the Christmas atmosphere. I'll try to do it this week (keeping fingers crossed!).

Well autumn is officially here. The rain stopped and the air outside is so freezing. A sneeze here, a cough there,we are preparing for the first cold stocking up tissues and cough caramels. The only thing missing is the smell of the fireplace, that will keep us warm!

Monday moodboard - Finally some rainy days

Finally we got some rain yesterday, the weather got chilly and we had to take our winter clothes out of storage. Yay!! The way the ground smells when it rains is my all time favorite and with a hot cup of coffee and a snugly blanket watching the rain fall feels like I'm in heaven.

Entering challenges

We listed two new things in the shop. The brown paisley brooch is taking part in the Etsy Greek Street team challenge, inspired by greek traditional costumes. The green necklace is taking part in the European street team challenge, with "leaves" as the theme.
