I do love the way the wooden beads look  before they are painted and after, especially the after looks like brightly colored candy! It's been a while since I added new things in our jewelry shop but there will be some new things in the coming days, new wooden bead necklaces in fun color combinations :-)

A necklace

The weatherman says it's going to be a sunny weekend but on Monday again the rain and cold will come. The nephew is still ill and so is his mother so we've been babysitting, it really isn't easy especially since he's been sick almost two weeks now and is so bored with everything!
Georgia took some time to finish a twisted cord necklace, they are made from waxed cords, buttons, beads and are very colorful perfect for spring. This one is pretty long so you can wear it long or short by wrapping it twice like this. It just needs the cords to be trimmed to a smaller size and it will be done. I've been working on some paper mache projects, hopefully I'll have something to show for next time.
Check out more creative spaces here!
Wishing everyone a happy weekend

A fish brooch

The lat few days I took advantage of the sunlight and took some photos of the earrings and paper mache brooches in my hand and the felt brooches on the mannequin. I'm hoping it will help with the size reference. Then the sun went away only to come back today so that I could photograph this fish brooch, I wasn't really happy with the first photos. It's still trial and error trying to get the perfect photo!
Another thing I've done is change the avatar and banner for our jewelry shop, I liked the old ones but I have to admit I like the new ones a lot more! Also I like the jewelry with a twist shop title, I'm thinking of making it more specific but maybe I'll do that later...

Pinwheels

Pretty cute aren't they? Ten pinwheel pins ready for the bazaar. Today I'm making the felt pebble necklaces, I hope I can make a couple before I get too tired.
Have a great Sunday!

Pebbles

Making needle felt pebbles, they will become necklaces hopefully finished by Monday. You can see a gray one peeking from behind, I have to make a dozen gray and some light green ones. I really can't decide which is more tiresome, wet felting or needle felting. With wet felting my back and both hands end up numb, with needle felting it's my back and my right arm.
Tomorrow's post will be something pretty colorful, I'm off to finish it right now!

A necktie reborn

An old necktie turned into a necklace, this is what I finished today. It's kind of a slow day for me, I slept really late last night and now I'm a bit slow and feel so tired. I'll take it easy today and finish more stuff tomorrow though, I have a plan and I'm sticking to it!
BibliOdyssey is an amazing blog, this post about marbled paper is total eye candy!

These little things

I made in my jewelry class today, I plan on making the necklace I drew with them. I don't know how they are called in english but here's how I made them: I drew different size circles on a piece of copper, used the saw to cut them out, filled them a bit to make the edges better and finally used this tool to shape them. I was a bit unsure about the use of copper and brass, as I don't really wear that kind of jewelry but they are growing on me!

Metal

This year I started jewelry making lessons using metal. My first project is the little man above, I've learned how to saw copper, then file its edges. I also learned how to make the cut out parts on my little man, the little triangle part and his eye. Finally I made this texture to the surface but I'm not done yet, I'm guessing he will be the basis for any other experiments as we go along.
Searching the web I found this, contemporary jewelry designers, I wish I'll be that good one day!

A ring

My sister made this ring, very cute and flirty I think. She's pretty proud now, and so am I.
